Blind Low Vision NZ

The Blind Foundation—now Blind Low Vision NZ—was widely misunderstood as a service only for those who are completely blind. In truth, the organisation supports a broad spectrum of people with sight loss. Its outdated name and brand also fell short of current accessibility standards.

We led a full rebrand—strategy, naming, and identity—developed through extensive consultation with the community. The new design system meets the highest accessibility guidelines (WCAG AAA), and was tested throughout with users who are blind or have low vision. Designing for functionality first, without losing visual impact, pushed us in exciting new ways.

The refreshed look retains continuity through a bold orange and a three-dot graphic inspired by braille. Blind Low Vision NZ now has a clear, inclusive identity that reflects its leadership in vision rehabilitation and eye health advocacy across Aotearoa.
